Kendriya Vidyalaya No.2 which strives for excellence came into existence in 1978 and ever since its inception, the vidyalaya has been developing fast both quantitatively and qualitatively. The present strength of students is 1084 right from class I to XII, with 4 sections in each class upto X and 5 sections in XI and XII. We have 3 sections of Science, 1 of Humanities and 1 of Commerce in XI and XII Bio-techonology has been introduced in class XI from year 2006-2007.There are 76 staff members on roll(including Principal, Vice-Principal, Teaching & Non-Teaching staff) and some teachers on contractual basis.
K.V.2 has always cherished quality in all fields and has over time acquired the certification as the outstanding school out of the 41 schools in Mumbai Region. K. V. 2 has been very fortunate in being a part of navy nagar campus. Not only does the school share the beauty of Arabian sea and the Sylvan surroundings but also has greatly benefitted from the academic and technical environment of Navy and TIFR. The school has received full co-operation not only from the naval authorities but also from the faculty of TIFR.
In the academic field the students and teachers strive hard to produce best possible results in home as well as public exams. The results of the AISSE & AISSCE has been praiseworthy. The academic aspirations and hopes of the school have been more than met. The school is proud of all its alumni who have distinguished themselves in the wider arena of life.
